Lovely writing, Marlena! I too put up a haroset last Friday--a Maine blueberry haroset from my friend Judy Stein. I love this tradition and intend to add it to our Easter feast which this year will feature a large roasted salmon for all the pescovegetarians in the family. Happy Pesach, e Buona Pasqua Ebrea!

I wrote my newsletter so quickly, i forgot to mention it as i had intended to! Blueberry haroset! Sometimes I add dried blueberries along with the raisins etc, but your (and Judy Stein's) beautiful blue haroset is captivating! I am actually going to add right now. Salmon sounds like the perfect plate-partner. Happy Pesach and Happy Easter to you and yours!

Dear Marlena,

thank you for this informative post. In my ashkenazi family we never celebrated Passover, I don't know why.

Happy Passover,

love,

Paule

It's my favourite holiday, probably because so food centric, plus it always fell around my birthday. Now I personalise the service to give it meaning and not be boring. Maybe you will sit at our seder table next year! Or one day. I am so glad you enjoyed the post!

Chag Sameach! Thank you for reminding me of the wonderful traditions that I miss so much! Married into two Jewish families, the matriarchs are gone, as my husband, you capture the most important. The seder rituals. Neither of my in laws were great cooks, but they tried. There was love, we never complained.

I hope you have a beautiful version with that love of the ritual and can invite a few friends to share.

My late husband , who loved any holiday, invented the LEMON hunt, combining the two Spring celebrations.

I heartily recommend you add this to yours. Marlena, thank you.
