Thank you thank you a big wild garlic scented thank you for your kind words. You know, as I do: you write the words out, because you want to, you have to, and then you share because hope to reach people and make a difference, whatever difference that might be, even a recipe for wild garlic! x m
You told me so many interesting things, I can't even remember them all. Most likely, I will refresh my memory by coming here in the future. Udon Miso Soup with Wild Garlic Meatballs made me curious, I will definitely make it when I get a chance.
enjoy, Sabrina! so glad you are here, with us, on substack, along with my green and white polkadot handbag and the edible adventures we get up to! ps i made our matzo balls green with wild garlic this year, and yeah: definately recommend!
For some strange reason ramps don't seem to grow here in Southern B.C. I've no idea why...not like we don't have forest! My chef friend gave me some a few years ago...bulbs/roots intact so I planted them...they did well at first but not now...But this year I found some new ones growing in amongst the raspberry canes! So...me thinks I'm going to dig up the other ones and plant them there as well. Oh and while we are talking wild garlic...yes please, I'd love a bag! If only!
Terrific post, Marlena! Thank you for this--so full of information, passion, and lovely memories! Im keeping it open to read again and again.

I loved this post! I love garlic, and especially wild garlic. It's just in season now in Israel. A thousand thanks for so many ideas and recipes.
My love of garlic is at a high level, as I understand you.
